Aloha House Programs

Substance Abuse Services Division

Medically Monitored Detoxification

The Medically Monitored Detoxification program helps clients recover from substance dependence and acute symptoms of detoxification and then helps them access the most appropriate treatment needed. We provide 24/7 nursing services and medications to facilitate a safe detoxification as well as screening, assessment, counseling, treatment and discharge planning. Residential Substance Abuse/Addiction Treatment

Our Residential Treatment program provides a structured living environment for those who need a real “time-out” from their daily lives in order to get better. Clients must come into treatment voluntarily. The program provides screening, assessment, nursing care, counseling, psychological services, case management, recovery education, discharge planning and assistance in developing sober support in the community. Sober Living Program

The Sober Living Program provides a safe, substance-free living environment for individuals either recently discharged from Residential Treatment or in the early recovery phase. Services include psychiatric care related to substance recovery, sober support skills groups, help with connecting with community resources and agencies and case management. The Sober Living Program allows clients to solidify the gains they made in treatment and generate different social circles to reduce the chance of relapse. Outpatient Substance Abuse/Addiction Treatment
(Outpatient Services Clinic)

Our Outpatient Substance Abuse/Addiction Treatment program provides comprehensive services to individuals who are chemically dependent as well as assistance to clients’ families. This program is for individuals who do not need residential treatment or hospitalization – people live at home and can even keep working while in treatment. Services include individualized treatment planning, group counseling, education and individual and family counseling. Duration of treatment varies and is based on client need and staff recommendations. Call 808-579-8414, ext. 8702 for admission and intake information.

Intensive Family Therapy

Intensive Family Therapy provides home and community-based intensive counseling and “wraparound” services for children and their families by family therapists. The goal is to help youth and families who are struggling with both behavioral and substance-abuse related issues achieve optimal functioning both in the community and in their everyday lives.

Clients must be referred by the Judiciary. Call 808-249-8691 to find out how to access services.

Drug Court

The Drug Court program provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment to adults referred by the Judiciary and serves as an alternative to incarceration. Services include individualized and comprehensive treatment planning, individual, group and family counseling, as well as education. Duration of treatment varies and is based on client need and staff recommendations, in conjunction with the Judiciary. Clients must be referred by the Judiciary for services.

Lana’i Outpatient Treatment

The Lana’i Outpatient program provides individual, group and family counseling, skill-building classes, education, relapse-prevention and assistance in developing a sober support structure in the community. It is for MEN ONLY. Duration of treatment varies and is based on client need and staff recommendations. Call 808-565-9566 for more information.

Mental Health and Social Services/Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division

Crisis Mobile Outreach

Free program available 24/7/365 for anyone in Maui County experiencing a mental health crisis. Call 1-800-753-6879 to be connected with a live person from the State of Hawaii Department of Health. If necessary, a trained and experienced Aloha House staff member will be dispatched to wherever the client is to provide support, information, an assessment and recommendation for services, which can range from crisis counseling to hospitalization.

Licensed Crisis Residential Program

The Licensed Crisis Residential Program, available 24/7/365, provides screening, assessment, treatment and discharge planning as well as psychiatric counseling and case management. The program may be recommended by a Crisis Mobile Outreach counselor if an individual needs residential-level crisis care. Clients must come into the program voluntarily. This service is only accessible through Crisis Mobile Outreach.

Crisis Support Management

Crisis Support Management is follow-up, short term help for those who need to be connected with mental health services. It may be recommended by a Crisis Mobile Outreach counselor if a person is able to stay in their home but needs additional support to manage their crisis. This service is only accessible through Crisis Mobile Outreach.

Community Based Case Management

Community Based Case Management provides effective and professional case management, psychiatric and nursing services to adults with mental health or dual diagnosis (substance abuse and mental health) issues. Caring and experienced case managers assist clients (who are often homeless) with accessing healthcare, housing, jobs and food. We teach skills related to money management and independent living. After actively reaching out into the community to find individuals who need help, we make sure clients have transportation to and from important appointments and see them through the entire recovery process. Maui Counseling Group
